Good corporate governance is a determining factor for sustainable success of German companies. The work of the Commission and the Deutscher Corporate Governance Kodex is an instrument of self-regulation. This is why the Code is developed on behalf of all capital market orientated companies in Germany. Hence, the broad range of the capital market orientated economy should bear the organisation and financing of the Commission.
Deutsches Aktieninstitut e.V. represents this broad range because of its widespread member structure. Members of Deutsches Aktieninstitut are companies of the real economy, financial services and credit institutions, insurance companies, institutional investors and capital market service providers. Therefore, Deutsches Aktieninstitut is the appropriate institution to put up financial support for the activities of the Commission. It also provides the secretariat of the Commission. Thus, the institutional framework is in place independently from the chairman of the Commission.
Dr. Cordula Heldt is head of secretariat of the Commission. The lawyer has been working for Deutsches Aktieninstitut since 2005 and is responsible for corporate governance and company law.
